Description: The Senior Employment Program provides free employment services to mature workers 55 years of age or older including federally funded training programs for eligible job seekers who meet income guidelines. The program also offers Personal Independence Training Classes with special emphasis on resumes tailored for older adults, interviewing skills, personalized job development, and seniors-only job fairs. We work with employers who are actively seeking mature employees.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Translators: People to assist us in our office. Spanish, Russian, Bosnian and Sudanese speaker are some of the most needed languages. Average of 2 hours per week
- Support for ESL Teacher: Help Limited English Speaking seniors become self-eliant. Assistance is needed in ESL classes for 1 - 5 hours per week
- Computer Trainer: Teach older adults computer skills. Requires basic knowledge of Windows 98. 4 to 16 hours per month
