Mission Statement
Fostering independence for Salt Lake County's older generations.
Statements of Belief
1. We, the employees and volunteers of Salt Lake County Aging Services, believe our individual participation and contribution are essential to the ownership and accomplishment of our mission. To that end we should support, encourage and be active examples of these beliefs.
2. It is our responsibility to support each other through actions that reflect dignity, respect, equity, courtesy and care.
3. Each of us is a leader. We show leadership by serving others.
4. Outstanding customer service is critical to our mission. Our service is based on respect for the dignity and individuality of all whom we serve.
5. We gain ownership of our jobs through taking an active role in determining how we do them.
6. Each of us is a part of a cooperative team effort with the responsibility to share, advocate, fully consider and implement ideas for improvement.
7. As public servants, we must continually strive for excellence, be efficient and accountable and respect the taxpayer funds that we spend.
8. We consider each employee or volunteer the most valued resource in our agency.
9. The workplace must be a physically safe environment that is open, honest and non-intimidating in order to encourage just and timely resolution of difficult and sensitive issues.
10. We expect a workplace atmosphere that fosters job satisfaction through a commitment to our growth, accomplishment and recognition, as well as opportunities for enrichment and advancement.
These beliefs are only as good as their implementation. They should be emphasized often, practiced always and reviewed periodically.
